Raonic desperate for more success

Canadian rising star Milos Raonic is eager to improve on a breakthrough 12 months and challenge for a first Grand Slam title in 2015.

The big-serving right-hander reached the quarter-finals of the French Open and the semi-finals of Wimbledon during 2014, with his form enough to also earn him a place at the season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London.

However, Raonic believes that there is plenty to more to come, as he bids to make the big breakthrough and become a Grand Slam champion.

He told the Vancouver Sun: “I did achieve the goals that I specified, but I always have this yearning for more, more, more.

“It doesn’t matter how much I do, I always want more, especially when it comes to my tennis.

“It’s hard as an athlete to really be playing your best throughout the whole year and I was able to consistently play well in the big tournaments.”

The first chance for Raonic to fulfil his dreams will come at the Australian Open early next year, with the 24-year-old yet to make it past the fourth round in Melbourne in four previous attempts.

Raonic can be backed at 51.00 to with the Australian Open, with Novak Djokovic 2.25 and defending champion Stan Wawrinka 13.00.
