Rangers take Ross Wilson from Southampton as director of football

• Wilson has been at Southampton since 2015
• Scot turned down two previous offers from Rangers

Rangers have appointed Southampton’s director of football operations, Ross Wilson, as their director of football. The 36-year-old will start on Tuesday after four years in the Premier League.

Wilson joined Southampton as director of scouting and recruitment, and shouldered more responsibility after the sacking in November of Les Reed, now the technical director at the Football Association, as vice-chairman.
