Rangers entertain the Blue Jackets

New York Rangers will look to build on their 7-1 hammering of the Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto when they host Columbus Blue Jackets.

New York play five of their next six at Madison Square Garden, with a quick trip to Chicago on Wednesday, as the Rangers attempt to move into the top eight places in the Eastern Conference. The Blue Jackets are priced 2.40 on the money line and the home win is quoted 1.62.

Currently 11th, but just two points adrift of Washington Capitals who sit eighth, New York have played better away from home this season and join Detroit Red Wings as the only two sides in the league with a losing record at home and a winning record on the road.

On Saturday, the Red Wings kicked off a five-game road swing with a 5-1 defeat of Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center. Henrik Zetterberg scored twice and Joakim Andersson, Drew Miller and Tomas Tatar also were on target for a Detroit side that now travels to San Jose on Thursday before concluding their travels with games in Los Angeles, Anaheim and New York.

On Sunday, Anaheim Ducks and San Jose Sharks continued their winning ways as they battle for the lead in the Pacific Division.

The Sharks were forced into a shootout to defeat the Blackhawks at the United Center in Chicago while the Ducks edged Vancouver Canucks at the Honda Center in Anaheim as Corey Perry lit the lamp with less than two seconds to play in overtime.
