Raiders stage NRL comeback to topple under-strength Bulldogs

Canberra consolidated their place in the NRL’s top eight with a come-from-behind 32-20 win over an under-strength Canterbury at GIO Stadium. Down 10-0 after less than 20 minutes and being outmuscled by the Bulldogs on a cold Sunday afternoon, the Raiders fought back late in the second half with four unanswered tries, including a double to youngster Joseph Tapine.

While a shadow of the side that beat the blue and white at Belmore in April, they found enough spark to topple the Bulldogs for a second time in 2016. Not since 2008 have the Raiders defeated Canterbury twice in one season and the victory pushes them to sixth on the ladder – just three points outside the top four.
