Predators conclude road trip in Ottawa

The Central Division leading Nashville Predators visit the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on Thursday to play the Senators in the finale of their latest road swing.

The winners of two in a row to lead the St. Louis Blues by a point, the Predators continue to win through a strong defense and occasional offensive outburst –¬†with Nashville¬†8.00 to win the Central Division, while the Blues are 3.10.

Such was the case earlier in the week as Nashville hammered the Maple Leafs 9-2 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto.

It’s then back to the Bridgestone Arena for the Predators this weekend when they Florida Panthers come into town, while the Blues have the harder task, at least on paper, when they visit the Montreal Canadiens.

The Atlantic Division leaders were blanked by the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-0 on Tuesday to see their six-game winning streak come to an end and St. Louis will be wary of a bounce back performance.

Out West the Anaheim Ducks are in Vancouver to visit the Canucks at the Rogers Arena. Anaheim arrives in town following their 4-3 shootout loss to the Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome in Calgary earlier in the week, but once again secured a regulation point.

The Canucks were in action on Wednesday and edged the Oilers 5-4 in Edmonton.

Curiously it was the fourth game between the two sides since the start of the season with Vancouver winning all four to help pad their point total as they look to chase down the Ducks and the Flames.
