Northern Ireland ease to friendly win against Belarus to extend unbeaten run

Ignored by his club but indispensable to his country, Kyle Lafferty has made no secret of the fact that the European Championship represents “a shop window” to potential suitors this summer. The dress rehearsal unfolded to perfection against Belarus as the striker set Northern Ireland on course for their biggest victory in five years.

Lafferty, with his 17th goal in 50 international appearances, Conor Washington and the substitute Will Grigg – Michael O’Neill’s three forwards – were all on the scoresheet as Northern Ireland signed off from Windsor Park with a hugely encouraging display.
