Papiss Cissé has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association. The charge relates to an incident involving the Newcastle United striker and Séamus Coleman during United’s 3-2 home win over Everton on Sunday in which Cissé appeared to strike the full-back with an elbow.

Cisse has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond or else accept the ban which would begin with immediate effect.
