Neil Warnock has cushioned the blow of losing his job at Crystal Palace by watching Downton Abbey and claims he told Alan Pardew the job would one day be his.

Palace sacked Warnock on Sunday and now look poised to appoint Pardew from Newcastle. Warnock is confident they will and the 66-year-old said he is already enjoying some time away from football, despite being linked with the vacancy at Rangers.
