NBA free agency: LeBron James and Paul George’s decisions imminent

  • LeBron James declines player option; Lakers, Cavaliers frontrunners

Marc Stein of the New York Times was the first to report that Kevin Durant plans to re-up with the Warriors. The deal is a 1+1 and will allow KD to be a free agent (again) next July.

The new deal would pay Durant $30.5 million next season and allow the two-time reigning Finals MVP to return to free agency in July 2019 -- three months before Golden State moves into the new Chase Center in San Francisco

Paul George deal could get done tonight. I don’t think anyone saw this coming. Everything in the past couple of days pointed toward the Lakers for PG13, but this one could get wrapped up without Magic Johnson and Rob Pelinka even getting a meeting!

Sources: Thunder GM Sam Presti wanted to hold the Thunder's meeting with Paul George in OKC -- with a party that's one more element to the franchise's year-long recruiting effort on George. OKC officials, George and his agent are meeting tonight.
