Michel Platini loses CAS appeal against 90-day suspension from Fifa

Suspended Uefa president Michel Platini’s attempt to have his 90-day ban from Fifa overturned has been rejected by the court of arbitration for sport (CAS).

The Frenchman, who was suspended by world football’s governing body in October over an alleged “disloyal payment” of $2m (£1.35m), had hoped to take his place as a candidate for February’s Fifa presidential election.
