Luther Burrell eager to keep banging on England’s door for Six Nations

The Northampton Saints centre is hungry to regain his place in the England side that will face Wales in Cardiff

Luther Burrell is likely to find himself directly opposing Jamie Roberts next week, but doing so again in Cardiff next month at the start of the Six Nations is the aim of the Northampton centre who played no part in England’s autumn international campaign.

The Saints resume their European Champions Cup quest at Ospreys on Sunday. Victory would set them up for a group decider against Roberts’ Racing Metro six days later at Franklin’s Gardens. After that, players in Six Nations squads leave their clubs to prepare for the championship. That leaves Burrell with two matches to persuade Stuart Lancaster he should start in the centre for England at the Millennium Stadium.
