Lightning conclude home stand in Tampa

The Tampa Bay Lightning will look to complete a successful three-game home stand on Monday when the Toronto Maple Leafs are the visitors to the Amalie Arena.

One point ahead of the Detroit Red Wings in the Atlantic Division, the Lightning then head to the First Niagara Center in Buffalo on Wednesday to face the Sabres.

The Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens follow for a Tampa Bay side whose potent offense of 3.2 goals per game is second only to the Maple Leafs in the NHL.

While the Lightning welcome in their visitors the Red Wings go in search of a third consecutive victory when they travel to the TD Garden in Boston to play the Bruins.

Winners over the Ottawa Senators in a shootout last time out following their doubling up of the Sabres two days before Christmas, Detroit had lost six straight including five at the Joe Louis Arena before hammering Buffalo 6-3.

Two points back, but with two games in hand the Canadiens are also on the road when they visit the Metropolitan Division cellar dwellers the Carolina Hurricanes at the PNC Arena in Raleigh.

It’s the second game of a five-game road swing for Montreal who, after knocking off the New York Islanders 3-1 prior to Christmas, will be hopeful of a successful trip away from the Bell Centre.

The Canadiens areĀ 4.25 to win theĀ Atlantic Division, with the Red Wings 4.25.

Over in the Metropolitan Division the Penguins follow the Canadiens into Carolina on Wednesday, but first take a trip to the Prudential Center in Newark to visit the New Jersey Devils.

With the New York Rangers closing fast in the Division, Pittsburgh will hope to return to their winning ways.
