Lee Westwood’s Hoof It rewards heavy betting at Glorious Goodwood

Lee Westwood had some ground to make up on the leaders as he set out on his third round in the US PGA in New Jerseyon Saturday but he could at least draw inspiration from the example of his horse, Hoof It, who powered home ahead of 28 rivals in the opening race at Glorious Goodwood.

The result was certainly good news for someone, to judge by the way the horse’s odds began collapsing in the morning, and perhaps that someone was Westwood, since the golfer found time to tweet: “Booooommm!!! Hoof it! What a star!” just minutes after the race, two hours before he was due to tee off.
