The New York Knicks finally snapped their 16-game losing streak on Monday when they defeated the visiting New Orleans Pelicans at Madison Square Garden.

Carmelo Anthony scored 24 points to lead the way for the Knicks but the story of the game was guard Langston Galloway who scored 21 points in his first start for the club. Undrafted last year out of St. Joseph’s the youngster was 8-of-14 from the floor and may well be playing himself into a roster spot on a permanent basis.

New York hits the road briefly on Wednesday to play the 76ers at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia before returning home on Friday to host the Orlando Magic.

While the Knicks continue to prop up the table in the Atlantic the Division leading Toronto Raptors eased by the Bucks at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee.

DeMar DeRozan missed all nine shots that he took, but the other four starters were in double figures for the visitors who also got useful contributions from Terence Ross and Louis Williams.

Just 3-7 in their past 10 outings the Raptors continue their road swing in Memphis on Wednesday before concluding the trip in Philadelphia.

The Brooklyn Nets remain in second place in the Division, but have actually lost ground to Toronto since the beginning of the year.

The recent back-to-back, home and home series with the Washington Wizards saw the Nets win on the road before losing at the Barclays Center and Brooklyn now heads west to visit the Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz.

Toronto are 21.00 to win the NBA Championship, while the Clippers are 13.00 to be crowned champions.
