Kick It Out attacks Port Vale’s ‘outrageous’ decision over Hasselbaink

Kick It Out has criticised the Port Vale owner Norman Smurthwaite for the “outrageous” decision to overlook Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink as manager over fears the decision to appoint him would lead to racist abuse from the club’s own supporters.

Having put the League One club up for sale earlier in the week, the Port Vale owner told the The Sentinel he turned down the chance to appoint the former Holland international, now manager at QPR.
