Alberto Moreno requires a second assessment of the ankle injury he sustained against Spartak Moscow amid concerns the Liverpool left-back could be sidelined for up to six weeks.

The Spain international hobbled out of Wednesday’s 7-0 rout of the Russian champions after stretching to make an interception in the Liverpool penalty area. An initial assessment revealed damage to the tendons around the ankle but the in-form defender will need another examination to determine the full extent of the problem.
