Jets win fourth in a row

The Winnipeg Jets took advantage of the recent lack-lustre play of the Chicago Blackhawks to move into a tie for third place in the Central Division on Sunday following a win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Bryan Little was the only skater to score in the shootout at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg as the Jets ran out 4-3 winners to keep the pressure on the Blackhawks, St Louis Blues and Nashville Predators in the Division.

Little had opened the scoring in the first only to see the Coyotes cancel out the advantage through Oliver Ekman-Larsson a little over three minutes later.

Michael Frolik gave Winnipeg the lead once more early in the second and the Jets appeared well on their way to victory when Dustin Byfuglien added a third. However Arizona responded well in the third to tie the game in regulation, but could not pick up the win and lost for the fifth consecutive game.

While the Jets were winning, the Blackhawks were doubled up 6-3 by the visiting Dallas Stars at the United Center in Chicago.

Tyler Seguin recorded his league leading 28th of the campaign, Cody Eakin scored twice and Vernon Fiddler, Erik Cole and Shawn Horcoff were also on target for a Dallas side that are still in the thick of the play-off hunt despite sitting fifth in the Central Division.

There is no doubting the quality of the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames in the Pacific Division, but as the four sides battle for the automatic post-season places in the Division, there is a danger that they allow the Stars to sneak into a wildcard place.

The Canucks are 23.00 to win the Stanley Cup while the Kings can be backed at 23.00.
