Jarryd Roughead vows to return to AFL after treatment on melanoma

Jarryd Roughead says he intends to play in the AFL again after undergoing treatment for melanoma found on his lung. The Hawthorn star revealed he is facing 12 months of immune therapy injections after four spots were found during a recent routine scan.

But the four-times premiership Hawk vowed on Tuesday that this isn’t the end of his stellar football career. “You can come to my first game back,” quipped Roughead, when asked if he would ever play again. “I’m 29 and I still have two and a half years on a deal.”
