Horse Racing – Tizzard hopes for rain at Chepstow

Colin Tizzard is ready to see how Thistlecrack runs over fences at Chepstow next week but only if the conditions suit last season's World Hurdle hero. Thistlecrack is being targeted for the Cheltenham Gold Cup in five months' time after winning all of his five starts in the staying hurdles division last season, but will only run at Chepstow if the weather plays its part. Tizzard said of the eight-year-old: "We've entered him in the three-mile novice chase at Chepstow on Tuesday. "If it rains and it is proper winter ground, he'll be there. The horse is ready, we're just waiting for the ground now." Thistlecrack is a 7/1 chance with bet365 to win the Cheltenham Gold Cup, while Cue Card is 10/1 to triumph in jumps racing's most prestigious race.
