Golf – McIlroy to manage his injury woes

Rory McIlroy has admitted that he is unlikely to be fully fit again this year. The 28-year-old is struggling with a rib injury and has missed three cuts in his last four tournaments. He won the Open Championship three years ago and is 20/1 with bet365 to lift the Claret Jug at Royal Birkdale on Sunday. McIlroy said: "I am feeling okay, but it is something I am going to have to manage until the end of the year. "Hopefully I'll be 100 per cent for next year. It is just something I have to be mindful of for now." McIlroy can be backed at 5/1 to be the top GB & Ireland finisher at the Open Championship.
