Golf – McIlroy handles Quail Hollow pressure

Rory McIlroy insists that he will not be fazed by being viewed as the favourite by some to win the upcoming USPGA Championship. The four-time Major champion has won the PGA Tour event at the North Carolina course on two occasions, in 2010 and 2015, leading many, including Jordan Spieth, to tip McIlroy to be the man to beta at the final Major of 2017. And McIlroy says such a tag will not bother him, with the Northern Irishman 6/1 with bet365 to triumph again at Quail Hollow. He told Sky Sports: "I've won a couple times around Quail Hollow and I like PGA Championship set-ups. If I'm the favourite, I'm the favourite - I'm happy with that. "It means I'm playing well, which is much different than going into my last few Majors. It's amazing what two weeks can do but such is life. It's all good. "Everything that I need to do next week, I'm pretty comfortable with. I'm just excited to get there and have a good look at some of the changes and get myself prepared for Thursday."
