Golf – Fleetwood keen on repeat show

Tommy Fleetwood is eager to build on a fine performance at the US Open and contend again at a Major. Fleetwood finished in a tie for fourth place at Erin Hills, having been in contention throughout the tournament in Wisconsin. A closing round of level par 72 saw Fleetwood end five shots back from eventual winner Brooks Koepka, with the Englishman looking forward to replicating his form on the big stage. He told reporters: "I've never contended for a Major before, so when you get to Saturday and Sunday you've got to see how you react and how you feel. "I enjoyed playing late on Saturday and Sunday and then next time, whenever that comes, I know that inside myself I feel fine and I can contend for the victory." Fleetwood had only once made the cut at a Major once before his efforts at Erin Hills, that coming at the US Open two years ago and he is priced at 40/1 with bet365 to win the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale in a month's time.
