Golf – Berger aims to build on St Jude triumph

Daniel Berger is optimistic about his chances of winning this week's US Open at Erin Hills after triumphing at the St Jude Classic for the second year in a row. Berger carded a 66 on Sunday to win at TPC Southwind by one shot from Charl Schwartzel and Whee Kim. The 24-year-old from Florida said: "We hear a lot about the young guns, but I feel like I kind of get forgotten a little bit." In the majors, his best finish is tied for tenth in the Masters on his Augusta National debut in 2016. Berger is 70/1 with bet365 to win the US Open while Rory McIlroy can be backed at 10/1.
