Steven Gerrard is set to join LA Galaxy when his Liverpool contract comes to an end.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is on the verge of signing a deal with MLS outfit LA Galaxy.

Gerrard confirmed on Friday that he would leave Liverpool at the end of the season when his current deal expires, and the former England international was immediately tipped to move to the MLS.

It is now understood that the midfielder will put pen to paper on an 18-month contract with David Beckham’s former side, where he will earn around £4million per year – which will make him one of Major League Soccer’s highest earners.

The 34-year-old will be able to join the Los Angeles side in June when his contract with Liverpool comes to an end, with the MLS season set to start in March.

Liverpool are 7.50 to finish in the Premier League’s top four this season and 9.00 to win the FA Cup outright.
