Gerrard bound for MLS

Steven Gerrard has confirmed he will be leaving Liverpool for the MLS this summer, as his 17-year spell at Anfield comes to an end.

The former England skipper confirmed earlier this week that he would not be putting pen to paper on a new deal with the Reds and would be moving on to pastures new at the end of the current campaign.

Gerrard has been adamant he would not play for a team to line-up in a competitive match against his beloved Liverpool and the MLS always looked like a likely destination.

Now the club have confirmed the 34-year-old will be moving to the USA in the summer but there has been no confirmation on where the midfielder will exactly be moving on to.

LA Galaxy appear to be the frontrunners to sign Gerrard, with New York City and New York Red Bulls also thought to be in contention.

In the meantime Liverpool are desperately looking to secure a top four finish in the Premier League this season and three points against Sunderland in their next top flight outing will be much needed.

Liverpool are 1.83 to win, 3.60 to draw and 4.20 to lose to the Black Cats on 10th January at the Stadium of Light.
