Formula 1 – Hamilton feeling the early pressure

Lewis Hamilton watched rival Sebastian Vettel win his second successive race at Sunday's Bahrain Grand Prix and admitted that he is already thinking about how he can win the 2018 Formula 1 drivers' championship. The satisfied 33-year-old Mercedes driver described his third-placed finish as "damage limitation" after a five-place penalty meant he had started from ninth on the grid. But with team-mate Valtteri Bottas unable to overtake Vettel with fresher tyres on the final lap it ensured the German followed up his season-opening victory in Australia with a second straight win to leave him 17 points ahead of Hamilton in the early standings. As a result the four-time world champion is already desperate to pick up his first race win when the action continues at the Chinese GP this weekend and he is 1/1 with bet365 to take the chequered flag on Sunday. Hamilton told Sky F1: "My thoughts are already on the world championship. I've lost two races now. I am 17 points down already after just two races."
