Formula 1 – Ferrari pace impresses Wolff

Mercedes supremo Toto Wolff expects Ferrari to be the team to beat in China, despite the Silver Arrow claiming a one-two at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Ferrari locked out the front row at Sakhir and appeared to be the team to beat, only for Sebastian Vettel to spin and have to settle for fifth place, while a power failure cost Charles Leclerc what looked certain to be a first Grand Prix victory. Lewis Hamilton took advantage to claim the race win, with Valtteri Bottas completing the perfect race for Mercedes, with Leclerc eventually having to settle for third place. However, far from being overjoyed with the outcome, Wolff was wary of reading too much into the result, with the next race on the F1 calendar the Chinese Grand Prix in two weeks' time. He told reporters: "I don't know what on the (Ferrari) engine failed, but if they are able to maintain those power levels on a power sensitive circuit like Shanghai, they are the favourites because the lap-time benefit might even be higher than Bahrain." Leclerc can be backed at 7/4 with bet365 to win in Shanghai.
