Fantasy sports companies outlawed from operating in New York

New York supreme court justice deals crippling blow for FanDuel and DraftKings, who will file for a stay of the decision and appeal the ruling

Daily fantasy sports giants DraftKings and FanDuel can’t do business in New York for now, a judge said on Friday, cutting off one of their biggest customer bases at least temporarily as the state attorney general and the sites face off over whether their business amounts to illegal gambling.

FanDuel, which already had suspended play from New York because of the court fight, and DraftKings said they would immediately appeal the ruling. It bars them from accepting play from New Yorkers until “a final determination.”
