Falcao ready to start firing

On-loan striker Radamel Falcao has told Manchester United supporters they will get their reward once he starts scoring regularly.

It follows an assessment by manager Louis van Gaal last week that the 28-year-old must prove himself to win a regular start for the former champions after he was left out of the squad completely for the 1-0 defeat by Southampton.

The 28-year-old has only scored three goals in 14 appearances since joining United in a £6million loan move from AS Monaco in the summer but returned to lead the attack in Saturday’s 2-0 win against strugglers QPR at Loftus Road in the Premier League.

The Colombia international, whose spell at Old Trafford has been interrupted by injuries, came through the 90 minutes at Loftus Road and declared he is ready to show the kind of form that made him one of the most feared strikers in world football.

Falcao made the move to England having only just returned from a serious knee injury which forced him to miss the World Cup in Brazil last summer.

He said he had no qualms about his fitness and promised match-going United fans they will see the real deal once he gets a regular run in the side.

The former Atletico Madrid goal-getter told reporters: “I am fine. I feel really good. I am playing without any sort of fitness problems.

“It was a very 90 very important minutes for me. I need to play and I am very happy that I did. Obviously I really hope to score soon but the opportunities will come, I am sure of that.”

Manchester United are currently priced 1.36 to be finish in the top four at the end of the season and 6.00 to win the FA Cup.
