Exeter ease into final as Don Armand try seals one-sided win over Newcastle

Exeter reached the Premiership final for the third consecutive season after wearing down Newcastle at a sell-out Sandy Park. The match lacked the flamboyance and fizz of the first play-off at Allianz Park, one-sided from the outset, but the Chiefs are not a side that is easily distracted.

Exeter were a lower league side when Newcastle won the inaugural Premiership in 1998, but the two clubs have travelled in different directions since then, to the point where this match was about how close the Falcons could push the champions rather than about who won.
