Everton in talks with Arsenal over signing Theo Walcott, confirms Sam Allardyce

Sam Allardyce has confirmed Everton are in advanced talks over a permanent deal for Theo Walcott and believes the Arsenal winger would be “a great addition” at Goodison Park.

Everton and Southampton both want the 28-year-old this month with Arsenal open to offers for a player who has 18 months remaining on a £110,000-a-week contract. A fee of around £20m has been proposed and, despite the lure for Walcott of returning to boyhood club Southampton, Allardyce was upbeat on Friday about the England international becoming his second signing at Everton.
