Jonny Bairstow accepts England’s players have let down their captain, Joe Root, and must rebuild public trust by delivering on the field during the remainder of the Ashes.

Both Root and the head coach, Trevor Bayliss, expressly told the players to behave before the Thursday night in Perth that resulted in Ben Duckett’s suspension from Lions duty for tipping a drink over Jimmy Anderson - and suggestions he was not alone in the caper.
