England beat Kazakhstan with Nikita Parris to the fore in World Cup qualifier

If this was Mo Marley’s last match as England’s interim coach she left with a 100% record after another comfortable win in World Cup qualifying. An inexperienced Lionesses side, with three players making their first starts, and a 4-3-3 formation carried England on from the Mark Sampson era, even if they were never posed any danger by a limited Kazakhstan.

With an opposition stringing five across the back, though it was often six or seven, the challenge was clear from the off. But finding a way through the forest of bodies was going to be difficult and doing so with the required precision the real test of Marley’s team.
