Steve McClaren can look forward to the FA Cup fourth-round draw after Derby County’s late win over Southport and with his future apparently at the iPro Stadium.

McClaren has been heavily linked with the head coach position at Newcastle Unired following the departure of Alan Pardew for Crystal Palace. The 53-year-old was installed as one of the favourites to take over at St James’ Park with the caretaker manager John Carver’s chances of replacing Pardew damaged by Newcastle’s third-round defeat by struggling Leicester City.
