Darts – MVG in the Crosshairs

Rob Cross is determined to keep improving to challenge Michael van Gerwen on a regular basis, having lost 8-6 to the Dutchman in the final of the European Darts Open. Reigning PDC world champion Van Gerwen successfully defended his title in Leverkusen in a high-quality clash with Cross, with MVG making a winning start to his European Tour campaign. However, 2018 PDC world champion Cross was far from downbeat, after averaging in excess of 100 in every match he played in Germany. He told the official PDC website: "I feel brilliant at the moment, and I only feel that I'm going to get stronger. "I'm going to push Michael every week - he's the best in the world for a reason, but I'm not going to stop until I get a piece of him." Cross also reached the final of the UK Open in Minehead earlier this month, where he was defeated 11-5 by fellow Englishman Nathan Aspinall. He is also the current table-topper in the Premier League, having won five, drawn one and lost one so far this season and is priced at 11/2 with bet365 to win the Premier League title.
