Iowa State jumped four places into the top ten of the AP Top 25 poll on Monday after victories over Northern Illinois and Texas Tech last week.

Tuesday’s 15-point defeat of seventh ranked Baylor is likely to push the Cyclones up even higher in the standings, if they can navigate past the Oklahoma Sooners this weekend when they visit Norman.

Iowa State’s DeAndre Kane was two rebounds and an assist away from a triple-double as the talented senior hit 11-of-18 to lead the way with 30 points in the 87-72 triumph over the Bears.

Iowa State areĀ 51.00 to win the NCAAB Championship, with DukeĀ 11.00 and Michigan State 7.00.

Oklahoma has lost two of three sandwiching a victory over the Texas Longhorns with defeats to the Bulldogs of Louisiana Tech and the Jayhawks of Kansas, the latter of which started a sequence of four consecutive games against ranked sides that concludes next week with games against Kansas State and Baylor.

The Bears will look to regroup prior to their match up with the Sooners against TCU and Texas Tech after seeing their six-game winning streak come to an end at the Hilton Coliseum in Ames, IA.

While Baylor and Iowa State engage in Big 12 action, the eighth ranked Wildcats of Villanova eased by Seton Hall 83-67 in Big East play.

Darrun Hilliard II, JayVaughn Pinkston, Ryan Arcidiacono and Josh Hart were all in double figures for the visitors to the Prudential Center in Newark on Wednesday and the Wildcats carry on to Madison Square Garden in New York to play St. John’s on Saturday.
