Cricket – Morgan pumps brakes on Hales recall

England's one-day captain Eoin Morgan says more time is needed before Alex Hales can make his international return. Hales was dropped by England on the eve of last summer's World Cup for "an off-field incident" which led to a "complete breakdown in trust", according to Morgan. Hales has spent the winter playing T20 cricket across the globe with great success and earlier this month spoke of his ambitions to return to the international stage in time for this year's T20 World Cup, which England are 4/1 to win with bet365. However, while Morgan says that the door is not closed to the Nottinghamshire batsman, his actions could have jeopardised England's World Cup bid last year and more time may be required. "I've spoken to Alex and certainly see an avenue for him to come back," Morgan told the BBC. "But when there's a breakdown of trust, the only healer is time."
