Cricket – Harbhajan issues selection plea

Harbhajan Singh says he is "ready to play" T20 cricket for India despite turning 40 this year. It is four years since the veteran spinner last represented his country but he has continued to be a potent wicket-taker in the IPL for the Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. However, he believes that his age is the primary reason that he continues to be overlooked by India's selectors, with the country 7/2 with bet365 to win T20 World Cup 2020. But with a T20 World Cup 2020 on the horizon in Australia in October, he is hopeful that another strong IPL campaign will sway the selectors to take a chance on experience. "I'm ready," Singh told ESPNcricinfo. "If I can bowl well in IPL, and all the top players in world cricket play in the IPL, you can do well in international cricket."
