Chris Robshaw and Mike Brown recover to give England a lift for Six Nations

• Jack Nowell also declared available to face Italy on Sunday
• Eddie Jones upbeat after ‘best training week we’ve had as a team’

Physically and mentally England are suddenly in a better place than they were a few days ago. Eddie Jones, 58 on Tuesday, has certainly had worse birthdays with Chris Robshaw, Mike Brown and Jack Nowell all back training ahead of schedule and available for this weekend’s Six Nations kick-off.

Jones even used the word “miracles” to describe the return of Robshaw (back), Brown (shoulder) and Nowell (ankle), all of whom he had previously classified as doubtful starters against Italy in Rome on Sunday. Only Zach Mercer, who has a viral infection, was unable to train in Bagshot, a testament to the hard work of England’s medical and strength and conditioning staff.
