A new report from a trio of conservation groups reveals that – for wildlife, at least – vast swathes of the new home of the Minnesota Vikings are indistinguishable from the sky and birds are being killed by flying straight into the stadium’s 200,000 sq ft of gleaming, clear glass.

Six-time V8 Supercars champion Jamie Whincup has been bitten by a snake at a pre-season promotion at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo.

The one-metre – non-venomous – black-headed python latched onto Whincup’s hand as they shared in a photo shoot with the series trophy he’ll be defending this season.
