Blackhawks and Predators conclude series

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Nashville Predators play the fourth and final game of their regular season contests on Monday when the latter travels to the United Center.

Two points separate the Central Division rivals who have played three close games already with the Blackhawks getting the better in two of the three contests.

Convincing winners over the Colorado Avalanche at the Pepsi Center in Denver over the weekend, Chicago bounced back well from a loss to the Winnipeg Jets prior to Christmas.

Patrick Kane scored twice and Brandon Saad, Brent Seabrook and Patrick Sharp were on target for the visitors in the 5-2 triumph with Corey Crawford stopping 23 of the 25 shots that he faced in the Blackhawks’ net.

The Blackhawks are 2.40 to win the Central Division, with the Predators 3.50.

Looking to get back on track, the Avalanche face a tough game when they leave town to play the Blues in St. Louis in a brief one-game road trip.

Meanwhile, the Predators knocked four past the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday and return home to entertain the Blues on Tuesday before heading out to the west coast to play the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings.

The losers of four in a row, St. Louis have been caught from behind by the Jets who edged the Minnesota Wild in overtime on Saturday at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

The two sides play the back end of their home and home series in Winnipeg on Monday, before the Jets host the New York Islanders later in the week.
