Trainer Darren Billinger says Come On Frank is in peak condition heading into the Group 1 South Australian Pacing Cup on Saturday evening.

The seven-year-old, who has won 45 races from 85 starts, ran third in the 2013 SA Cup behind Smoken Up and Caribbean Blaster and is coming off a second behind Victorian Maximan in the Free for All last Saturday night.

He’ll need a miracle, but we believe in miracles.

Trainer/driver Billinger says the Cup has been Come On Frank’s major goal for the past 12 months and feels he has got his stable star spot on for the $125,000 contest.

“He’s at his peak. I think he’s going as good now as we’ve ever had him going,” Billinger said of the 2012 Group 1 Vicbred Super Series winner.

To win the SA Pacing Cup is the pinnacle for South Australian harness racing folk and Come On Frank will be a hometown favourite at Globe Derby this weekend.

“It would be a dream,” Billinger said when asked what it would be like to win the race. “But we’re realistic. He’ll be a genuine 15-1 pop from the preferential draw system that we have.

“He’ll need a miracle, but we believe in miracles.”

If Come On Frank runs well he will then head to Victoria for the Summer of Glory carnival kicking off with the Victoria Cup on January 31st.
