Ben Arfa set for France return

Midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa’s time at Newcastle United is drawing swiftly to a conclusion with the Frenchman set to return to his homeland with Nice.

The 27-year-old fell out of favour with the Magpies under their former manager Alan Pardew and a season-long loan spell with fellow Premier League outfit Hull City did not fare much betting.

Ben Arfa saw his deal at the KC Stadium cut short and now the former Marseille star is set to return to the south of France with Nice.

A statement for the Ligue 1 outfit read: “Some details remain to be ironed out but Ben Arfa has never been so close to OGC Nice.

“The attacking midfielder should continue his career in the red and black shirt [of the French club].”

Newcastle’s next game in the Premier League will see them take on Chelsea on 10th January.

The Magpies are 15.00 to win, 6.00 to draw and 1.20 to lose to the Blues at Stamford Bridge.
