Belichick wary of ‘explosive’ Colts

Bill Belichick was warned of the danger of Andrew Luck and the Colts.

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has warned his team they will face the most explosive team in football in the AFC Championship game in Foxborough.

The Patriots are heavily fancied to make the most of home advantage at the Gillette Stadium, but Belichick is wary of taking Indianapolis lightly, with the Colts having been beaten by the Patriots in the Divisional play-offs by last season.

We’re going to have to play our best game of the year. That’s the way I look at it.

Belichick warned: “They’ve got so many big play guys. Of course it starts with Andrew Luck, but he’s got a great receiving core. They run the ball well, they’re consistent.

“They’ve got productive players at tight end; receiver; running back; quarterback, a lot to defend.

“Again, as explosive a team as there is in the league, both in the regular season and then in the post season and then very consistent about making big plays from everywhere by everybody.

“So it’s going to be a big challenge for us this week. We’re going to have to play our best game of the year. That’s the way I look at it.”

The two sides met in Week 11 of the regular season, when New England ran out 42-20 winners in Indianapolis, largely thanks to four touchdowns from running back Jonas Gray.

The Colts can be backed at 3.25 to defeat the Patriots, who are 1.36 to clinch the AFC Championship, while Indianapolis are available at 9.00 to win Super Bowl XLIX.
