Badgers host Purdue in Big Ten action

January 07, 2015 16:24:33 UK

The Wisconsin Badgers return to the hardwood on Wednesday when they welcome in the Purdue Boilermakers to the Kohl Center in Madison.

Winners of all but their game against Duke back in early December, the Badgers remain something of a question mark, despite their 14-1 record, due to a lack of a quality non-conference schedule. A victory over Oklahoma to win the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament looks even better following the Sooners destruction of Texas, but wins over Georgetown, Cal and Marquette are not the mark of a stellar resume, even for a returning Final Four side.

Meanwhile Purdue arrives in town with a very strange record. Utterly waxed by 30 points against Notre Dame and losers also to Vanderbilt and Gardner-Webb to end their non-conference schedule, the Boilermakers have proceeded to notch credible Big Ten wins over Minnesota and Michigan.

The Golden Gophers and Wolverines may each have their issues, but that’s good momentum for Purdue going into games against first Wisconsin and then Maryland.

One place below the Badgers at fifth in the latest Associated Press Top 25 poll, the Cardinals of Louisville are back in action when they host the Clemson Tigers at the KFC Yum! Center.

Rick Pitino’s side eased by Wake Forest over the weekend behind 22 points and 10 assists from Chris Jones. Montrezl Harrell also had a double-double for the visitors to the Lawrence Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem as they ran out 85-76 winners over the Demon Deacons.

The Badgers are 13.00 to win the NCAAB Championship, while Louisville can be backed at 21.00.

Don’t forget you can earn up to 50% more on your NCAAB pre-game parlays with bet365’s fantastic 50% Parlay Bonus.
