Ariya Jutanugarn swings towards first major at British Open

• Victory for the 20-year-old would be Thailand’s first major golf title
• Overnight leader Mirim Lee now two strokes behind going into final round

Ariya Jutanugarn, a 20-year-old from Thailand, will have another chance to claim a first major golf title for her country in the final round of the Ricoh Women’s British Open. At the first major of the season, the ANA Inspiration, Jutanugarn led by two with three holes to play but made bogeys on the lot.

It did not take her long to learn how to win and her first victory in America in May was followed immediately by two more in the next two weeks. At Woburn on Saturday Jutanugarn produced the round of the day with a six-under 66. At 16 under par she had nipped two strokes ahead of the overnight leader Mirim Lee, who scored a 69.
