Aidy Boothroyd defends England U-21s’ direct tactics in Sweden stalemate

Aidy Boothroyd, the England Under-21 manager, has insisted his side can improve at the European Championship and responded to comments made by Sweden’s manager Hakan Ericson by defending his team’s tactics.

England play Group A leaders Slovakia on Monday knowing a win is vital to keep their hopes of qualifying for the last four alive following a 0-0 draw against Sweden.
